Dagger Directive Version 1.0
Early Access closed. Shadow Strike opened. The one-shot rule stayed.
On 13 August 2026, Arcane Alpacas and MicroProse shipped Dagger Directive Version 1.0 on Steam. The trailer below is the official launch cut: night cans, long glass, squad noise, and the claim that this is the complete build to date. This page translates that trailer into a checklist you can play.
What 1.0 added
Shadow Strike. The Steam changelog names the fourth campaign Shadow Strike (press kits said Global Ops). Five missions, new objective types, new encounters. Official notes walk Tajikistan, Afghanistan, the UAE, then a private Gulf island against Shadow Front. The field brief is Shadow Strike. Maps is the ground index. Do not assume your Bering habits transfer in the first ten minutes.
Arsenal. Official 1.0 list: MK-18 (black, green, tan), P90, M17, M32 plus scope, M7 with scope and can, XM8 with grenade launcher and scope, M2 machine gun, MK19 automatic grenade launcher. The launch post says 54+ weapons and 20 missions. They sit on Weapon ranks and in the grenadier card on Role builds. They do not sit behind an unlock wall.
Airstrikes. An A-10 single 30 mm pass and an AH-64 two-minute hover. Airstrikes is the field card. Both are loud. Both are co-op exams.
Workshop. Custom maps, missions, weapons, and magazines are a finished loop, including multiplayer if everyone subscribed. Workshop is the player and creator brief.
Feel. Press language promised smarter AI, better reactions to suppressed fire and impacts, night vision behaviour, flashlight detection, difficulty options, controller support, and Steam Deck compatibility. Stealth and Controls absorbed those claims as “assume the AI is less stupid than your 2025 clip.”
Polish. Fifty achievements (25 original plus 25 new, some hidden — see Achievements), cosmetics including a returned balaclava in two styles and five colours, and the usual quality-of-life pile. None of that replaces a save or a walk key.
What 1.0 did not change
You still die in one honest burst. You still save anywhere. You still own every official rail on the ship. You still pick the clock. Online co-op is still the squad mode — and still the mode you should test for desync before a long night. Co-op is the test card, not a victory speech.
How to spend the first 1.0 evening
- Reset binds once if you last played in EA. Controls lists why.
- Run a short original-theater op so your hands remember pouches.
- Open one Shadow Strike mission, day, silent, recon drone for a minute.
- If friends are coming, run the shared-body test on that new map.
- Touch the M32 on a save you can delete. Ballistics before ego.
Price and platforms
1.0 launched as a paid Windows Steam game with a short introductory discount. There is no console edition in the materials this wiki used. Recommended specs on the store page are thin; system requirements collects the honest minimums (Windows 10/11, 8 GB RAM, 20 GB, a very modest GPU line) and the “it ran on a 1660” anecdotes from reviews.
After 1.0
The developers have talked about deeper tutorials, Free Play spawners, and more mod hooks. Those are post-launch wishes until they ship. This page will not pretend they are in your build. Patch history will catch numbered notes when they exist.
If you want a verdict instead of a list, read the Review. If you want to play, take the Getting Started order and treat 1.0 as a new map pack plus a finished toolbox — not as a different genre. The Walkthrough will not spoil Shadow Strike crate by crate; it will tell you to recon for a minute and pick one door, which is the entire 1.0 personality in one sentence.
