Dagger Directive Weapon Tier List
Job ranks for the official 1.0 shelf, not a single S-tier trophy.
Fifty-four-plus official weapons is a menu, not a meta. This list ranks the jobs you actually take after Version 1.0: stay unseen, take a courtyard, or hold a ridge. Pair it with Role builds for pouches and with Ballistics if your letter grade is losing to drop.
Letters are per job. An M32 can be S on a loud Global Ops clear and C on a grass insert. Read the column.
Stealth primaries
S — suppressed SMGs and short rifles. They keep the first two rooms quiet and still work if a hut goes wrong. Attach a can, a simple optic, and a light you will not turn on. The P90 added at 1.0 lives here if you like the magazine and can control the noise of a dump.
A — suppressed mid rifles (including MK18). Better at the unexpected 80-metre sentry. Worse in a closet. The MK18’s three colours do not change the job; the can and the trigger finger do.
B — pistols as a planned primary. Fine for a melee-first ghost who wants a tiny silhouette. Not fine as your only answer to a courtyard.
C — belt-feds and launchers. You can challenge-run a stealth map with a SAW. You are not stealthy. You are making content.
Melee still beats a canned shot when the sentry is alone. Stealth is the reason this column exists.
Assault primaries
S — rifle plus underbarrel, or a rifle you trust plus a dedicated breacher secondary. The first door is the fight. An underbarrel shotgun or a ready frag is the difference between a stack and a reset.
A — SAW / belt-fed. Excellent at the break-contact downhill on Bering. Heavy, loud, and hungry. Bring a pistol because reloads are a speech.
A — M32, M203, and MK19. 1.0 put a scoped M32 and an automatic MK19 on the shelf. They are S if you lase and respect fragments. They are a self-kill if you hip them in a hut. Ballistics is required reading, not optional flavour. The M2 belt-fed sits with the SAW: excellent at break-contact, useless at staying unseen. The M7 (scoped, canned) and XM8 (launcher plus glass) are mid-rifle answers that still need a job.
B — battle rifles without a plan for the first room. They win streets and lose stairwells.
C — long bolt guns. You will be holding a doorway with a two-round argument.
Overwatch primaries
S — a rifle you will actually zero, plus a rangefinder. Plus and minus are not decoration. If you will not lase, do not take this job.
A — designated marksman setups with a mid optic. Kinder on Europe courtyards than on Bering kilometres.
B — high-magnification glass on a map you have not walked. You will range the wrong roof.
C — SMGs. Overwatch with an SMG is just assault from farther away and sadder.
A recon drone is part of this job even though it is not a gun. Drones and Gear explain why the mark matters more than a third magazine.
Sidearms after 1.0
The M17 arrived with the finished launch. Treat 1.0 pistols as the gun you draw when the primary is empty or too long for a closet — not as a joke slot. If you never practice the swap, you do not have a sidearm. You have a paperweight. Put the swap on a bind you will hit while scared; Controls is where that bind lives.
Attachments that move a letter
- Suppressor: required for stealth S, optional vanity on assault.
- Underbarrel: moves a mid rifle into assault S.
- Optic: only as good as your LRF habit.
- Light: useful in interiors, a stealth leak if you leave it on.
- Extended mag: Workshop STANAGs exist; official mags still win if you cannot reload under a window.
What we will not rank
Community Workshop guns. They change by subscription and they share vanilla projectiles. Workshop is the install guide. If a custom rifle deletes your recoil, enjoy it, then go back to an official rail when you host strangers.
For a packed kit, leave this page and open Role builds or the loadout planner. For a theater that hates your S-tier, open the Walkthrough and change the job, not just the rail.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What is the best weapon in Dagger Directive 1.0?
The best weapon for the job. Suppressed SMGs win stealth. Rifles with underbarrels win doors. Zeroed rifles win ridges.
Where do the MK-18, P90, M7, XM8, M2, and MK19 sit?
MK-18 and M7 are mid-rifle answers. P90 is a stealth SMG. XM8 brings a launcher. M2 is break-contact. MK19 is loud S if you lase.
Should I take a suppressor on every gun?
On stealth jobs, yes. On a planned loud brief, a can is optional and sometimes hurts handling.
Are belt-feds bad?
They are excellent at break-contact and bad at staying unseen. Rank them in the assault column.
